Good Morning....

Attendees started the day with a continental breakfast served in the meeting room, giving them ample time to find a seat, get some food & drink, mingle with other attendees and get ready for the first presentations of the day.

The consensus of the Overall Seminar Evaluation is that the speakers were very good and very informative.  The topics were well received and thought to be extremely practical.  Golden West wants to thank all the speakers for sharing their knowledge with us at the seminar.
Rose Seavey, sponsored by Getinge, gave a great presentation that kept everyone's attention inspite of having just arrived from the airport to the Atlantis less than an hour earlier.  Golden West wants to thank Rose for jumping in without hesitation when the schedule suddenly changed.

Rose's talk "Are You in Compliance with Current Best Practices" provided information relevent to all SPD wprkers.  Her ode to "Herbs" was a hit also.
Chuck Hughes, sponsored by SPS Medical, once again provided the seminar attendees with fabulous totes for the seminar packets of literature. Golden West greately appreciates his continued and generous support over the years.

Chuck involved the attendees in his presentation as he spoke on Adhering to AAMI Standards and Biological Indicators: More than Just a Pretty Vial.

Larry Shields, sponsored by Herzog Surgical, provided much useful information on the
"Care, Handling and Maintenance of Surgical Sterilization Containers and Instruments".
Attendees said the subject was fascinating and that Larry obviously has considerable knowledge in his field.

Golden West is happy to have had the expertise of Larry and Herzog Surgical at the seminar as Central Service is all about the care and handling of equipment.

Kathy and Jack Donaldson
GWCSHC Members

Kathy and Jack Donaldson have been long-time members of GWCSHC and have contributed greatly to our organization over the years.

Kathy spoke on "Staying Healthy in Winter".  Members were especially interested in her "Winter Recipes"   Jack spoke on "Hazards Standards for Central Services" and the attendees enjoyed both Kathy & Jack's great stories and Jack's sense of humor.

Both presentations were also very informative   A great way to begin our education experience at this year's seminar.
